About Us

We have a small and dedicated team and we like it that way. We have a core crew of three full time staff but work constantly with freelance animators, directors, editors and camera operators to make sure we get every job done right. This allows us to keep our costs low and therefore charge less for our work, while at the same time keeping the quality of the projects we produce top notch.

Either that or we're just control freaks and like to have a hand in all that we are doing. The good thing is, you can always just pick up the phone to one of us and we'll be able to help you with whatever job we're working on for you.

Mark Pizzey

Mark has been working as a professional video producer and director for over ten years. He started as a documentary cameraman and producer on a wide variety of TV programmes nationwide for ITV. In 2005 he moved into current affairs and began filming and directing episodes of The London Programme, a job for which he won the prestigious Royal Television Society Craft Award for Camerawork at the London awards in 2006. Since then he has continued making television for the major broadcasters and, after being present at the birth of reel nice, has filmed and directed many successful online and corporate projects and campaigns for clients such as Sony, Coral and the NSPCC among others. Confident filming on any digital format and a creative video editor, Mark has the technical expertise to take ideas and work them into polished finished productions.

Will Francome

Will's first foray in to film was with his authored feature documentary, 'In Prison My Whole Life' about death row inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal. The film featured Noam Chomsky, Alice Walker, Snoop Dogg and Mos Def amongst others and was executive produced by Colin Firth. 'In Prison' was accepted to many international film festivals including Sundance, London and Rome and won best film at the Geneva and Paris Human Rights Film Festivals. Will then went on to work in television, working for ITV, Channel 4, the BBC and multiple satellite channels.

Since starting reel nice, Will has directed 'Life After Guantanamo' for Current TV and produced and directed films for Puma, Nokia, Amnesty International, the Tate, and others. As well as directing and producing, Will is a keen editor and has also written for The Guardian, Amnesty International and other periodicals.

Laura Shacham
Laura cut her teeth in high energy, high impact social issue documentaries as first Assistant Producer, then Producer of Just Do It: a tale of modern-day outlaws, the feature documentary that gained unprecedented access to the secretive world of environmental direct action.  Following a sell-out premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest, the film had an extensive cinema release in the UK alongside community and festival screenings stretching from Quebec to Kosovo. Spurred on by the possibilities for change harbouring in alternative distribution models, she joined Will Francome and Mark Pizzey to produce One For Ten, the Webby-nominated interactive web series profiling innocent people who were wrongfully convicted and on death row.

She is currently producing  the feature documentary "The Penalty" - headed up by the One For Ten directorial duo - examining the current state of America's death penalty.

Laura co-runs Kino London, the capital's only open-mic short film night.
